I've beeen a bit busy so I'm just gonna post these days together.
So during these days Stanley has grown a lot and is much much stronger now that he has eaten a lot of food. We feed him about tree mouthfuls of cat food and hard boiled egg every half an hour. Stanley can now stand steady and tall and can fly too! We are taking him outside and around the house so he can stretch his legs and learn how to hop and fly like a song thrush.

Day 3
I'm gonna post day 3 and 4 on the same day because I was busy yesterday.
Well anyway yesterday Stanley went on well and I don't think there is much to say. I feel so sorry for him when he tries to walk and ends up falling. He can't even stand! maybe it is his weight that is putting pressure on his leg. Stanley is actually quite plump.

Day 2
Stanley is going on well. We're planning on calling Robyn's Bird Rescue to send Stanley there so then he can meet other birds and live in bird paradise. Stanley has grown at a noticeable rate which is good. We still don't know what we are going to do about his foot. I wanted to send him to a vet but check-ups are really expensive and my mum won't let me. He may not be able to walk if we don't do something...
I'll try to get some photos of Stanley on this blog but blogger doesn't seem to let me upload my own pictures.

20/12/07 A Big Surprise
Hi, I'm Prim. Welcome to Stanley's blog.
If you are wondering who Stanley is, he is in fact a baby song thrush that got lost and is now being hand-raised by meeeee!!!
This is a kinda diary about Stanley's progress through everyday and the tough challenges he faces from losing his parents and his home.
When I came back home from the last day of school I was tired just like anybody else. My one priority was to go back to bed, but I ended up on the computer instead. After a while I heard the phone call. As I picked it up I heard my Dad's voice speak. He told me that he'd be back from work in 10 minutes and he was going to bring back a big surprise. This was weird because it was too early for my dad to leave work. And a big surprise too?
Me and my mum wondered what my dad would bing back home. We guessed he'd bring back a tv or someting like that. When I saw his car come up the drive I rushed up to him and asked him what he brought back home. He showed me something in his hand. At first I thought it was a baby kiwi but I then realized that he was holding a baby song thrush. He told that it's nest had fallen out of the tree and his siblings had died so my dad felt that he should bring the chick home.
So here I am, looking after a baby bird which I named Stanley. We still don't know whether Stanley is a girl or a boy but since Stanley is a boy's name we're assuming he's a boy. Stanley looks pretty healthy. The feathers under his wings and on his belly still haven't grown so we think he's pretty young. I made him a basket out of dried moss. Stanley really likes it because the moss is really soft and warm. I still think Stanley has a problem with his legs, since he fell from the tree. But in time I think he'll be able to stand quite firm, so there is still hope in the future for him.
